Well all I know is that they are becoming every more common in society, Because I had never heard of them until I was 15, and my girlfriend said she had one, And that she couldn't run our much like that or she gets excited and passes out / goes to the hospital.
Now my new baby cousin two years ago was born premature and he had a heart murmur, and well he barely is here now.
What I know for certain, is that it is a defect with the heart, now what I am not sure about is if it is a hole in the heart, I remeber hearing this somewhere and I beleive that this is true.
If all else fails search a bit of google.

it is normal, everybody has a heart murmur and there's no need to worry about it
my sister (studying med) said to me that's the most stupid pathology that can affect somebody... so be happy

if you don't notice it, then it is not dangerous
instead, if you notice something wrong with your heart beat, then you have to ask a medic

| Medic - Doctor lol, thinking about war times are we william, but yes if you notice anything irregular the best bet would to contact your nearest hospital and they will run tests on you like a lab rat to determine what is wrong.

| A heart murmur occurs in almost everyone at some point or another. Sometimes, one can have a heart murmur during pregnancy, then it will heal on its own. It's only necessary to consult a physician if you are experiencing any pain, shortness of breath, etc. It is very common.

From what I understand about heart murmurs, is that they can be very common. Most people don't know they have one until it affects their lives. Even if they are diagnosed they can live normal lives.
My husband had a heart murmur. But it was due to a damaged heart. When he was child he contracted Rhuematic fever. In turn damaged his heart. A heart murmur, and nurmerous other heart conditions followed. But in turn was told by the top heart specialist for heart transplants at Loma Linda University that heart murmers are common and depending on the person, circumstances and health can lead normal lives. Even with medications.
So I hope that your grandmother is being checked by a medical professional. And from there will be told what her options are. If you have any questions you may go to the doctors visit and ask all the questions you want about this topic. Which I suggest you do to put any worries out of your mind.
