Eliminating Symptoms of Migraine Headaches

Posted on March 30th, 2007 in Noni Juice by admin

Migraine headaches are not by any means easy to live with. Those who suffer from migraines often find themselves unable to properly function in aspects of their daily lives. There are several factors that can trigger a migraine headache such as stress, allergies, irregular sleep patterns, dehydration, bright lights, loud sounds, and physical tension. Certain types of food can also trigger migraines in some people, like corn, chocolate, and pickled products. Even rapidly changing weather patterns can trigger migraines, especially extreme temperatures when coupled with humidity. Overall, migraine headaches may seem to be inescapable to those who are extra sensitive to the effects of these triggers. When experiencing the severe pain of a migraine episode, people often resort to the first relief available at the drug store. Other natural remedies for relieving migraines are often overshadowed by the pharmaceutical industry.

The first place that migraine sufferers usually look to for relief are a family of drugs known as triptans. Among the class of triptans include sumatriptan, zolmitriptan, naratripton, eletriptan, and almotriptan. All of these drugs serve to reduce symptoms, although many people will still get a full on migraine as the day progesses. Those who are not comfortable with relying solely on these drugs have turned to noni juice for relief. After a steady intake of noni juice, some people have reported that not only do the symptoms of migraines take a decline, but the occurance of migraine episodes in themselves become greatly reduced. Noni juice contains a significant amount of anthraquinones, which is extremely helpful in fighting inflammation. Anthraquinones also have analgesic properties, which serve as a natural pain reliever. For those who don’t find pharmaceutical treatments to be fully effective in reducing symptoms, giving noni juice a try may offer a new hope of relief.

Aside from all of the available treatments to reduce the symptoms of a migraine headache, the best action to take is to prevent them from occurring in the first place. The most natural prevention method should be avoiding the migraine triggers. If you observe what triggers effect you the most, you can take action to avoid them to the best of your ability. For example, if irregular sleep patterns and stress trigger your migraine episodes, keeping your stress under control could also help your sleep schedule. So both triggers would be eliminated right there. In any case, rather than reducing the symptoms, it’s always better to tackle the source of the ailments.

An Understanding of Fibromyalgia

Posted on March 28th, 2007 in Conditions and Diseases by admin

Fibromyalgia is a syndrome of unknown origin, but affects roughly 4% of the population, mostly in people 20 to 60 years of age. This condition is chronic in nature and has a broad range of symptoms. Pains in the muscles, bones, or joints, headaches, tenderness, heightened sensitivity, and fatigue are just a few of the detrimental effects fibromyalgia has on the body. One who suffers of fibromyalgia may also experience depression, anxiety, and an inability to focus. While there is generally no cure for fibromyalgia, multiple types of treatment have been successful with different individuals.

It is important to understand the complexity of this condition. While the cause of fibromyalgia is a mystery, there are many theories that explain certain aspects of this condition to some extent. Some researchers point to stress, sleep disturbances, trauma, and irregularity of neurotransmitters as causes. Many physicians don’t believe fibromyalgia is an organic disease, but merely a psycho physiological disorder related to emotional or mental processes. No matter what the cause, the general characteristics of fibromyalgia (chronic exhaustion, sensitive tenderness, and widespread body pains) are universal. The condition does not progress in any given time frame and is really more of a day to day experience. Symptoms may be more severe for a few days and then subside after a period of time. The more common pharmaceutical treatments for this condition include muscle relaxers, anti-depressants, and pain relievers. However, many people have turned to natural alternatives, such as noni juice. Those who have had a daily intake of noni juice have reported a dramatic increase of energy. The anthraquinones in noni juice have natural analgesic properties which help reduce muscle pains and body aches. The many pharmaceutical treatments for fibromyalgia may offer temporary relief, but natural alternatives tend to promote overall wellness and increased vitality.

Living in pain and exhaustion can be a miserable experience, especially if it’s a chronic state of being. Conventional medicine may have its benefits, but it can only go so far. Taking the natural approach could not only help to reduce symptoms, but also aid in improving various levels of health in general.

Natural Alternatives for Fighting Hay Fever

Posted on March 26th, 2007 in Conditions and Diseases by admin

Spring time is here, and with it comes the blooming of new flowers and other plant life. Sure, it will begin to look prettier outside, but the new pollens in the air can be bad news for many people. Hay fever is the term widely used to describe the variety of symptoms that come with seasonal pollen related allergies. Common plant life such as grasses, trees, and weeds release pollen during windy weather, making it nearly impossible to avoid exposure. The more common symptoms include rhinitis (runny nose due to inflammation), headache, fever, and a weakened sense of smell. The severity levels of hay fever vary with each person. Where one person may temporarily experience mild symptoms, another person may be effected so badly that they need to stay indoors and even wear a face mask when stepping outside. With the many types of allergy relief available, there are always natural alternatives.

For quick relief, many people rush to the drug store to pick up anti-histamine pills and nasal decongestants. This is understandable if the severity of the hay fever is reaching an unbearable level. However, there are so many adverse side effects that can still hinder your functionality such as dizziness, sedation, dry mouth, and nausea. This is why many sufferers of hay fever feel more comfortable with alternative treatments. Acupuncture has been used to effectively fight hay fever without any side effects. Herbs such as feverfew and bayberry are also widely used to inhibit hay fever symptoms. Noni Juice has also been used as another powerful natural relief for it’s anti-inflammatory attributes, and has even been known to prevent seasonal allergic reactions to an extent. Overall, you have a greater advantage with using natural treatments for hay fever rather than conventional medicines.

Spring should be an enjoyable season for everyone, but unfortunately far too many people dread the weather changes because of their allergies. If it’s not the hay fever symptoms hindering them, it’s the side effects of the drugs that are meant to provide relief. However, you can also look on the bright side of spring and give some natural alternatives a chance.

Understanding and Treating Glaucoma

Posted on March 24th, 2007 in Conditions and Diseases by admin

Glaucoma is a very serious visual disease that we are all at risk of developing, especially as we grow older, and even more so if someone in the family has it. Even though complete blindness doesn’t always result from glaucoma, substantial loss of the visual field in any of the varying degrees can be difficult to live with. Whether it’s open angle, closed angle, or low tension glaucoma, the sight impairing effects can prevent us from performing our most basic daily functions. We should not expend too much energy worrying about glaucoma, but it is always good idea to take safe prevention measures. In the case of someone who’s been diagnosed with glaucoma in it’s early stages, several treatments are available to reduce the progression of this disease. However, as with treating any given disease, you should always have a clear understanding of how the disease functions.

The optic nerve damage of this disease often stems from an irregular amount of intraocular pressure in the eye (fluid pressure), although the amount of pressure it takes to develop glaucoma is not clear and varies with each individual. It should be known that intraocular pressure is only one of many key factors that can lead to the development of glaucoma, but it stands as a major factor that can be directly treated. Each glaucoma treatment intends to reduce intraocular pressure, which prevents further optic nerve damage. The more conventional methods involve pharmaceutical drugs and even laser eye surgery. However, in the age of natural remedies, many people have report favorable results using noni juice as a way to prevent optic nerve damage. Noni juice contains a significant amount of terpenes, which are helpful in reducing the amount of deterioration in the optic nerve. Although each case of glaucoma should be medically treated accordingly, drinking noni juice on the side can be very beneficial.

Even though we are all at risk of developing glaucoma, it doesn’t do any good to stress out about the fact. If an individual already has it, the smartest action to take is to prevent the progression of optic nerve damage. In any case, it is our responsibility to educate ourselves on the natural remedies for glaucoma prevention, and to know that more options exist than what we are usually presented with.

Curing Hemorrhoids the Easy Way

Posted on March 22nd, 2007 in Conditions and Diseases by admin

Hemorrhoids are painful, and unfortunately, are actually quite common. In fact, by the age of 50, you are more likely to have experienced hemorrhoids than to have not. Quite a scary thought, but fortunately there are several ways to mitigate the chances of experiencing this painful inflammation, and these methods not only help prevent hemorrhoids, but are also healthy for you in general. It’s really a win/win situation.

To prevent any type of illness or disease, it’s first necessary to determine the cause. In the case of hemorrhoids, one of the main causes is poor rectal health, which results in the rectal membranes becoming swollen. Genetics can also play a factor, in the sense that thinner and weaker rectums are more susceptible to hemorrhoids. However, diet has shown to be one of the most important aspects of preventing it, and a lack of vitamin E specifically has a negative effect on those who suffer from hemorrhoids.

So now that we know a bit more about the cause of hemorrhoids, what about the solutions? The first remedy, noni juice, helps in many ways. First of all, noni has been clinically shown to shrink swollen membranes, which is precisely what a hemorrhoid is. Secondly, a regular daily intake of noni juice will soften your stool, which is essential, as hard stool will further the hemorrhoid’s inflammation. A second remedy, which should be combined with noni juice for maximum effectiveness, is increased vitamin E intake. Whether this is through vegetable oils, cereals, nuts, or fish, the choice is up to you. The important thing is to avoid foods that will increase your inflammation. In the case of cereal, you may want to use soy or rice milk instead of cow’s milk, not just for the health benefits, but also to avoid diary products, which when consumed in excess, have a tendency to further inflame hemorrhoids.

In summery, for those of you suffering from hemorrhoids, or for those who wish to prevent hemorrhoids in the future, drinking noni juice on a daily basis and consuming your daily recommended value of vitamin E will insure that hemorrhoids go away and stay away for good. Trust me, it’s a lot more fun to prevent hemorrhoids than it is to have them in the first place!

Naturally Slowing Down the Aging Process

Posted on March 19th, 2007 in various by admin

Aging is a natural and beautiful process, and one that doesn’t necessarily mean becoming inactive and unhealthy. Extending our youthful attributes into our old age is something that can be naturally accomplished through proper health and dieting. With the right natural remedies it is possible to actually slow down the body’s aging process. These methods have been researched thoroughly and have been shown to scientifically reduce certain aspects of the aging process. I know that may sound too good to be true, but read on a bit as I explain some of the most effective natural methods to decelerate the undesirable effects of aging.

So what is aging exactly, and why would we want to slow down the process? That may sound like simple questions with obvious answers, and indeed they are not very complicated but they are definitely worth being asked. In simple terms, aging is the process of becoming older. As this process occurs, something called cellular senescence occurs, which is where individual cells cannot divide and as a result the body cannot regenerate like it once could. This leads to susceptibility to more diseases, as well as the proliferation of free radicals in the body, which are known to cause cancer. Slowing down this process will not only increase your life span, but also your quality of life.

Luckily, there are many natural substances that slow down cellular senescence. Antioxidants have been shown to decrease the rate of cellular decay, along with essential vitamins, such as vitamin C. Noni juice is perhaps the best in this regards, since it is not only a powerful antioxidant, but also has many other immunity boosting and anti-inflammatory properties. Green tea is another powerful antioxidant, which explains why some swear by both noni juice and green tea. Combining natural remedies such as noni with a healthy diet of fresh vegetables, fruits, fish, and nuts is a great way to curtail the body’s aging process and cellular decay.

There’s no reason why aging has to be a negative experience when there’s still so much life to live. With the proper natural supplements and diet you can not only slow down the aging process, but also increase your quality of life. And remember, it’s never too late to start living healthy!
