Daily Essential Nutrients – Most Can Be Covered by Fruits and Vegetables

Posted on March 7th, 2007 in various by admin

One of the most common arguments I hear against vegetarianism is that it’s impossible to get all your essential proteins, vitamins, and minerals from fruits and vegetables alone. This is essential a bit of common knowledge that can be more accurately described as a common myth. Although at first glance it may be difficult to think of what exactly you would eat to gain all your essential nutrients, with only a bit of research it is easy to figure out the proper food to eat. Now I myself am not a vegetarian, but for awhile in my life I was actually vegan, so I am extremely experienced in this subject and speak from first hand experience. Without further ado, let me explain what fruits, vegetables, and nuts to eat in order to achieve your essential nutrients.

First off, let’s start by talking about protein. Protein is commonly thought to be derived mainly from animal based food, but that’s not the case. Of course soy related products come to mind as a good alternative source of protein, as well as beans, peas, and lentil. Nuts are often overlooked, but most nuts are high in protein and vitamins, making them a healthy choice in any diet. Also, anything made from grain or brown rice will satisfy your body’s protein requirements.

Carbohydrates are easy to take in, and almost everything you eat has them. Of course fruits and fruit juices such as noni juice are packed with carbs, as well as many other healthy enzymes, making them a great source for all your carbohydrate needs. Potatoes and white rice are also two amazing and healthy sources of carbs that don’t have a sweet side to them.

So what about our essential minerals, calcium and iron? We all know calcium is an extremely essential mineral for the health of your bones, and a healthy diet should consist of around 1,000mg per day (it varies by age.) Almonds contain a large amount of calcium, as well as magnesium, copper, and vitamin B2. Figs, sea weed, and parsley also contain large amounts of calcium. In terms of iron, most nuts and seeds contain more than enough for your body to thrive.

That brings us to vitamins, which is where fruits and vegetables really show of their value. Carrots and tomatoes easily fulfill your vitamin A needs; vitamin B from mushroom and potatoes; vitamin C from oranges and other citrus fruits; D from exposure to the sun itself; and E from your favorite nuts (which also fulfill your need for essential fats.

So there you go. Most essential nutrients can be covered by fruits, vegetables, and nuts. And I merely scratched the surface to illustrate my point. There are many different diets you can use to achieve the same balance of essential nutrients. So next time somebody tries telling you otherwise, simply point them here.

Advantages of Certified Organic Fruit Juices

Posted on March 5th, 2007 in Noni Juice by admin

Some companies and corporations try to increase their sales by methods that lean very close to false advertisement, but just barely avoid crossing that line. Statements such as “60% Better” that refer to mythical figures come to mind. 60% better than what? Another classic is example is “Made with Natural Flavors,” which can mean that the synthetic flavors are meant to simulate natural flavors. However, there is one area where consumers may not realize they are being deceived, and it’s very close to the “natural flavoring” marketing ploy; just because the label says “organic” it doesn’t mean the whole product is organic.

There’s a big difference between naming a product “Organic Product Name” and having a product that is actually certified organic. That difference is that certified products must be 100% organic, while in most jurisdictions, products that have the word organic in it only have to have at least one organic ingredient in it. Of course in some US states the word organic can only be used on certified organic products, but until that becomes a global mandate, there will always be companies out there trying to take advantage of consumers.

One of the main advantages of certified organic fruit juice is accountability. There are strict requirements in place worldwide that make getting a certification difficult for companies who do not meet the requirements. A lot of companies have no problem calling their products organic when only a portion of the juice actually comes from an organic ingredient, but fortunately to be certified organic, the product has to actually be 100% organic juice.

Another key advantage to certified organic juice is that you get all of what the fruit has to offer. With regular fruit juice, the processing itself destroys many of the essential enzymes that make the fruit desirable in the first place. This is especially true with natural remedies such as noni juice. The last thing you want to do is destroy the very things that make noni juice the panacea it is. That’s why certified organic juice is superior, because through careful and natural processing, these certified companies are able to produce natural fruit juice that retains all the essential elements of the fruit it’s derived from, and thus makes the juice actually worth drinking.

So next time your in the store shopping for an organic fruit juice, make sure you buy certified organic fruit juice. That way you are guaranteed to actually be purchasing what the companies are advertising to you. Trust me, your body will thank you.

Noni Juice to help battling cancer

Posted on March 4th, 2007 in Conditions and Diseases by admin

Noni juice is an amazing substance from an amazing plant. The fruit has demonstrated many healing properties as well as traditional vitamins and enzymes that are intrinsically desirable. In fact, there are some people who claim that noni juice has helped them survive their battles with cancer, and given noni’s known holistic benefits, this definitely does not come as a surprise to me. After hearing about noni’s cancer fighting reputation I decided to do a little research and see what I could find.

First off, I read several testimonials where people have claimed to have fought cancer through the use of noni juice combined with a few other holistic remedies and the power of the mind. I’ve personally known people who have healed themselves of skin cancer without consulting a doctor using holistic methods. However, I can definitely understand how some people may be a little skeptical and wouldn’t want to gamble with something as serious as cancer. Regardless, I still recommend that even if you do opt for chemotherapy that you take noni juice.

Chemotherapy is harsh on the body; after all, you are actually radiating areas of yourself, which is not a healthy thing to do by any means. The treatment will challenge your body’s immune system and has a negative effect on your health. Fortunately, noni juice will help strengthen your immune system and provide your body with essential enzymes which will help you withstand the harsh nature of chemo.

For those of you who do pursue alternative cures, I want to point out that noni is a strong cancer fighter. It kills cancer cells, stops them from multiplying, all while increasing your white blood cell count and helping your immune system. One such scientifically proven aspect of its cancer fighting abilities is that it increases the body’s production of Nitric Oxide, a natural chemical that has been proven in countless studies to reduce tumor growth. This is just one of the many cancer fighting properties of noni juice.

So in conclusion, I would definitely recommend noni juice to anyone fighting cancer, whether you are using chemotherapy or holistic methods. Even if you’re skeptical it’s definitely worth using, since it will still help the rest of your body stay healthy during your treatment, which will help your body to fight the cancer itself instead of focusing on other health issues. Still, I know noni juice works, and so do the people who have had their cancer healed from its use. Really noni juice is a win/win situation for those fighting cancer, no matter what method you’re using.

Fruit juice – Essential in our Daily Diet?

Posted on March 1st, 2007 in Noni Juice by admin

Staying healthy has got to be one the easiest and most rewarding things in life… once you get the hang of it of course. Really, what it consists of is finding things that A) you find to be irresistible and delicious, and B) are healthy for you. I guess it’s only as difficult as your desire for junk food, so the less junk food you craved before getting healthy directly relates to how easy it is for you to choose a healthy diet and stick to it.

Now a lot of time I see otherwise health conscious friends and colleagues drinking soda and other sugar laden or Aspartame laced soft drinks, and can’t help but ask them why they aren’t drinking a natural juice instead. One of the answers I got surprised me, not because of what the person said necessarily, but from whom it came from, one of my most health conscious friends. Her answer was that she didn’t know if fruit juice was really an essential part of a healthy diet. My initial response was that fruit juice was sure a whole of a lot better then a Coke. She agreed that some fruit juices are, but others were just as bad or worse then soda.

We didn’t have a lot of time to talk, so we never got a chance to finish the conversation. Her position intrigued me, and I definitely understood where she was coming from. A lot of cheap “fruit” juices contain very little fruit at all, and some of the lower end “fruit” drinks contain “natural flavoring” with no actual fruit juice to be found. Obviously those “juices” are not aimed at those trying to live a healthy lifestyle.

Back to her answer though, are fruit juices essential to a healthy daily diet? Well, the answer to that depends on how much actual fruit you eat during the course of a day. The USDA recommends that most adult Americans consume 2 cups worth of raw fruit or 100% fruit juice a day, so according to thm, fruit juice is an essential part of your daily diet. They don’t specify what fruit juice to drink, so feel free to drink orange, apple, or even noni juice, just make sure you get the 100% real fruit juice to actual get the full benefits from it.

Next time I talked to my co-worker, we had a bit more time to talk. I mentioned the USDA recommendations and needless to say we both agreed that fruit juice is an essential part of a healthy diet. 100% real fruit juice that is.
