Herbs, a Gentle Way to Promote Healing

Pharmaceutical drugs are by their very nature chemical concoctions developed in medical labs using toxic and poisonous chemicals in a combination that produces a beneficial effect. Unfortunately, these toxic chemicals have negative side effects on the body while simultaneously performing their intended purpose. This shouldn’t come as a surprise given these substances origins, however there are alternatives that can heal your ailments in a gentle, natural way, devoid of chemical side effects.

The first step towards a healthy lifestyle is a balanced diet. Eating organic, unprocessed, and uncooked vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, and fish will give you most of the essential vitamins and minerals you need to feel your best. I know what you’re thinking, not another one of these “eat healthy” lectures! The reality is that eating healthy can be fun and invigorating, infusing you with more energy then you may realize you were capable of having.

Even with the best of diets there will still be times that you will get sick. It’s just a part of life that everyone has to deal with. Eating healthy is a good preventative measure, and will definitely help your immune system kick most illnesses before they have a chance to establish themselves. However, when you do get sick, instead of turning to pharmaceutical pills with their unpleasant side effects, I recommend using the gentle healing properties of herbs. Their healing power, combined with their beneficial side effects, can be a much healthier alternative then man made chemical solutions.

Noni juice is one such substance that can be used both as a supplement to a healthy diet to help boost your immune system, but also as a natural remedy to help combat sickness when you do start to feel ill. Echinacea and golden seal have also been very effective at fighting colds, fevers, and sore throats that I’ve had, although I wouldn’t recommend them as a daily supplement. Really, the shear number of herbs that have been documented to work effectively at treating human ailments is astounding.

In short, I definitely recommend researching a natural cure for your specific ailment before choosing a synthetic chemical alternative. There are so many herbs out there that are beneficial to our bodies, many of which have additional beneficial side effects. At least look into all your options before settling on a harsh, negative side effect laden pill to “heal” your ailments. Believe me, your body will thank you.
