How many are you are for natural medicine?
How many are you are for natural medicine?
Are you for natural medicine or the medicine that the doctors give you?
Which do you think is better natural or doctor given and why? People speak out about both and i want everyday people advice.

Actually natural medicine is always better as it has minimum or no side affects . Now a days natural medicines are used widely in the hospitals also. For example: Honey is applied on wounds .

i see it as a matter of belief. if you think the drugs your on are working then go for it. same as religion. if you are a better person for believing in something that you think is good, again go for it. pharmaceutical medicine has a right to be there same as natural medicine, but naturopaths need more credibility in society. The ‘alternative medicine’ society are seen as the witch doctors of medicine, bubbling up concoctions of bat blood and hogs toenails. Why does modern medicine have the right to tell people to believe that they are right and every other practice of medicine is wrong. Studied have been done on both practices, but this is how it happens. People:
1)Learn the good things about orthodox cancer treatments, from the orthodox medicine supporters.
2) Learn the bad things about alternative cancer treatments, from the orthodox medicine supporters.
and you would (this line represents the symbolic “fence” between orthodox medicine and alternative medicine):
3) Learn the good things about alternative cancer treatments, from the alternative medicine supporters.
4) Learn the bad things about orthodox cancer treatments, from the alternative medicine supporters.
The problem is that when people have heard the good things about orthodox medicine, from the orthodox medicine supporters, and they have heard the bad things about alternative medicine, from the orthodox medicine supporters, they think they are experts on both subjects!! But they are not experts in either subject because they have not heard a word from the alternative medicine supporters!!!
Introduction to Alternative Cancer Treatments
by R. Webster Kehr | Published 8/24/2004
This guys full version of the article first blew me away. I’d only ever heard one side of the story for cancer treatment and this guy tells you the other. in great detail.
By the way, I’m for natural medicine. Not necessarily herbal but good wholesome food and exercise.
Just to reply to Doobs comment below. More studies every day are finding that ‘alternative medicine’ actually does work better, and more effectively as well. The thing is that people usually only use it when their other options have all run out. By this time pharma drugs have already done the major damage. Your allowed your comment no worries, but its wrong. Totally, completely, absolutely wrong! That’s my opinion.

For some things, like a diagnosis, I prefer mainstream medicine. The high-tech tools they have do a pretty good job of figuring out what is wrong.
However, when it comes to treatments, I prefer to use a natural, drug-free approach.
One way to compare different approaches at the same time is to use the search engines at http://getathirdopinion.com/
At that site, you can select from three different searches:
(1) search US government websites about science and health, including Medlineplus, gov, FDA.gov and CDC.gov
(2) search mainstream science and health blogs, like MayoClinic.com and WebMD.com
(3) search alternative science and health blogs, like Mercola.com
Try it out and then make your own decisions.

Just so none of you get carried away by surferslife’s sensible sounding answer…
The bad thing about alternative cancer medicine, is that it simply doesn’t work.
Don’t expect to get that explanation from a quack though.

Do people not understand that over 90% of drugs used in modern medicine are made by, or derived from, organisms in the natural world?
I prefer medicine that is known to work. Whether that be from an herb or from a chemistry lab doesn’t matter. In either case, you’ll have benefits and drawbacks. But in neither case will working medicine be free of side effects. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling garbage (ex. homeopaths).

I believe in the natural therapies as they do not have the negitive side effects that the pharmacutical drugs do. I also know that the natural remedies actually correct the problems not just mask or cover up an inlaying problem or symptom. I also know that many pharmatical medicines are derived from the synthenical reproduction of a chemical structure of a natural remedie example= valarian root is a seditive herb and it is used to calm ones system with no addictive properties then the pharmatical companies take this knowledge and syntheticlly reproduce the chemical structure of this plant and create vallium a nerve prescribed drug which is addictive and also has side effects. So for me i choose to use the natural remedies that have verry little if any side effects and actually address the symptoms rather than as in the past have taken pharacutical drugs with many side effects and addictive properties. I sincerely think this is a personal choice and also this said believe people need to be educated in both to make a personal decision.

Just type class action law suit OR side effects and a ‘medicine’ in the search engine and you will see enough to make you want to choose alternative over pharmaceuticals

Natural medicine in most cases avoids the often dreadful side effects that you frequently get from conventional medicine as your body regards these conventional medicines as foreign materials that are toxic invaders that poison your body.
Often you need several natural medicines for one health problem as natural medicines usually work slower than conventional medicines so it seems that both natural medicine and conventional medicine both have their pluses and minuses.
