Q&A: Natural remedies?

Natural remedies?

Are there any natural remedies out there for ovulating more often. I started tracking my temperature in October and have noticed I only ovulate every three months. I’ve seen my doctor, hormones are normal and the next step is the HSG procedure which I keep putting off because of expense and pain. Does anyone have any suggestions about natural remedies. I don’t have a lot of time. I’m 42.
Thanks in advance

Yes, taking vitex (chaste tree berry) help regulate cycles…It takes a couple months of regular use to see good results but it works and it’s safe to take until your 3 months pregnant or when your breastfeeding. The reason why they say only the first 3 months of pregnancy is because after that it can start to encourage milk production too early.

The only thing I’ve run across is Vitex. Vitex is an herbal supplement that supports the hypothalamus and pituitary glands which produce your fertility hormones like estrogen, luteinizing hormone (LH), and progesterone.

From the research I’ve done it works more with luteal phase defects and progesterone production than anything else, but it’s still a natural remedy that’s worth looking into.

It has been used as a fertility herb since the time of the Greeks. However, because it’s an herb and not a hormone it can take a little while to come into effect (3-6 months). Also, it should not be taken once it is established that you are pregnant.

I just started it about a week ago and so nothing here yet, but I really have nothing to loose.

Besides Vitex which is mentioned by the previous posters, soy isoflavones are said to work like Clomid to induce ovulation. I would do some additional research before trying it, however. Good luck!

Also, I started Vitex last month for my short luteal phase and I haven’t noticed a difference yet, although it can take a few months to be effective.
