America has always been hungry. Hungry for power, success, and most importantly, large portions of food. In a society where time rarely slows down, Americans have no choice but to eat at their local fast food joint. While this sounds like a ridiculous excuse, many feel that there just aren’t enough hours in the day to truly stop and eat healthy. We are continuously working for long periods of time, taking care of our children, and if we’re lucky, we spend the last few minutes on the couch. This is a common routine that prevents the majority of busy Americans from slowing down.

Sadly, with so many Americans chowing down, obesity is becoming a chronic problem. Studies have shown that 1 in 5 children will develop this disease. Not only will this decrease shorten their life span, but it may lead to other serious illnesses such as heart disease and cancer. Although it seems difficult to pinpoint why exactly obesity is such a prime player in the states, many feel that there are a plethora of assorted reasons. First and foremost, eating habits are sub-par. Due to the fact that we rarely have any free time; we are forced to eat meals on the go. With fast food restaurants such as McDonalds and Burger King lurking around every corner, it is frustrating to try and stay on the right track. Moreover, we don’t have enough time to burn off these calories. When the day is done and we are ready to rest our feet, the last thing we want to do is consider exercising.

While the media is begging us to try the newest diet supplement or the coolest work out equipment, it is also displaying fast food items. The cheapest value meal, the fresh hamburger that just arrived at Wendy’s – these messages are clearly mismatched. How is a young adult truly supposed to obtain the correct perception of health when it is so jumbled? For many, this is one reason why they continue living such an unhealthy lifestyle. If everyone else is doing it, why should we be the ones who stop?

Fortunately, there are ways to improve this epidemic. Studies have shown that natural supplements such as green tea and noni juice fight off obesity. These products not only boost metabolism, but they give your body additional energy. This alone is one way to motivate those who just can’t seem to find extra time in the day. Providentially, noni juice also fights off common colds, alleviates joint pain, and helps you sleep at night. What more could you ask for?

In a country where bigger is better, it seems that Americans are taking that message a bit too far. Lack of exercise, motivation, and diet are huge factors that are only fueling obesity. Unfortunately, our children can’t help but act the same way, when this is all they grow up with. If Americans just downsized their portions, ate in moderation, and exercised a few times a week, they would drastically alter their quality of life.

Technorati Tags: fast food, cancer, natural supplements, green tea, noni juice, joint pain, noni, juice, nonijuice, fruit juice

The holidays are over and many Americans have the same New Year’s resolution; to lose weight. It’s difficult not to pack on a few pounds during the holiday season. Large family meals, cookies, cakes, fudge and more surround us, just begging to be eaten. Of course, we grant the treats their wish. However, after the celebration is over and the chocolate is gone, we’re left with the aftermath of a few pounds that somehow attached themselves to our bodies. Even long after the holiday season, much of America is trying to lose weight. Increasingly large portion sizes at restaurants and fast food joints on every corner, team with the lack of exercise due to busy schedules to help millions pack on the pounds. With all the crazy nutrition plans that are out there, the traditional method of weight loss still holds true: diet and exercise. However, a slight spin on this, dietary supplements, are proving to be a useful aid in the fight against fat.

A healthy and balanced diet is a main ingredient in weight loss. One should begin by analyzing the food pyramid and looking at the recommended daily servings of each food group. Generally, it is important to stay away from sugars and large amounts of fat, such as butter, grease, fried foods and more. While these are okay once in a while, in the everyday diet they should be replaced by vegetables, fruits, lean meats, whole wheat products and other items found on the food pyramid. However, a small treat once in a while never hurt anyone.

Exercise, exercise, exercise. You hear it all the time. But where do these people find the time? If you’re too busy to hit the gym, or just plain don’t like to exercise, keep trying. The recommended amount of exercise needed to lose weight and stay fit is a minimal 30 minutes a day, 4-5 days a week. This goal can be reached by walking a mile or two on your lunch break or after dinner. Jogging in the morning before starting your day is a great energizer.

Dietary supplements are becoming increasingly popular in the weight-loss world. Advertisements for them can be seen in many commercials, and rows of various weight-loss pills line the shelves of health food stores. However, just because it’s in a health food store does not mean it isn’t dangerous for you body. In fact, many of them have serious side effects. When taking supplements to help with weight loss and an overall well-being, natural is always better. A prime example of this is noni juice (it also comes in pill form) that is extracted from a fruit the size of a small apple found growing on shrubs in the area of the Pacific Islands. This fruit drink, which has been used for 2,000 years, has several benefits, including help with weight loss. Noni improves the overall well-being of people who take it, improving their bodies as well as their lives.

Help fight the bulge or the pudge and develop an exercise routine and a healthy diet. Add to your diet a natural substance, such as Noni, to improve your overall well being and health. Your body will undoubtedly be happier, and so will you.

Technorati Tags: lose weight, nutrition, weight loss, supplements, food pyramid, noni juice

French fries. Hamburgers. Pizza soaked with grease. While these meals sound like heart attacks waiting to happen, the majority of the United States is chowing down on these fattening foods. Since the rise of popular fast food chains and excessive marketing through the media, people are starting to experience obesity and major health problems. Has this always been an issue in our culture? Here we take a look at how modern this fattening disease is and what it is doing to our society.

For centuries people have been obese. Plus sized clothing, unhealthy eating habits, and an incredible sense of exercise denial. However, they were not always seen as negative images of beauty. Surprisingly, obesity was viewed as royalty and a symbol of how much money you had. If you were a King, chances are you were rather overweight due to the fact that you could eat whatever you wanted to. While others struggled through poverty and starved, those who ate well certainly did pack on the pounds. Therefore, the struggle with weight has always been part of our culture.

Unfortunately, obesity is becoming more of a worldwide problem in recent years. With fast paced lifestyles taking a toll on our bodies, it is impossible to keep health as a top priority. For many workers, there is just not enough time in the day to exercise and eat right. This is why thousands of people a day flock to fast food restaurants, hoping that they will save extra time riding through the drive-thru. Regrettably, their lack of exercise and overuse of transportation is only damaging their waist line. It is impossible to tone up any part of the body when we are constantly sitting down at our computers and driving whenever we have to travel somewhere.

Another reason for obesity is the rise in disorders such as thyroid problems. Millions of Americans suffer each year from this illness, and thus have trouble slimming down. However, medicine can easily help keep weight at bay, and reduce the amount of excess weight. While genetic problems have always been a factor, our mindsets are more harmful. We all crave immediacy. It doesn’t matter if we have hours to spare or need to be at work within a few minutes. Regardless of our schedule, we are desperate to keep our days jam packed. Perhaps we don’t want to realize that we are ruining our bodies and our health. No matter what the reason is, our lazy mindsets are actually taking quite a toll. If only the general public turned off their television sets and stopped playing computer games. Far too often children are encouraged to sit back and relax with their video games and enjoy a plethora of candy, even though they haven’t moved a muscle. The fact that we do not motivate people enough to get up and exercise is very frightening. If we do not do something in the near future, the majority of society will be bedridden and over-obese. Unfortunately, this will only result in less productivity and death or serious illnesses.
